关于我们
In 2018, I competed in the second season of the History Channel's program, "Truck Night in America". Two years later, at the start of the pandemic, we acquired and began work on building a NASA Spec Z conforming race car. Presently, I am pursuing competition licensure and building competence in automotive maintenance and fabrication tasks. The goal is to help expand pathways for more young people to explore personal and professional interests in the variety of opportunities within the automotive industry.

New (to us) carrier assembly with Wavetrac limited slip differential (LSD) is now safely tucked under the car. To keep everything running nice and cool, I opted to replace the basic factory cover with the NISMO aluminum finned variant. Working on the Sedan poses a number of challenges and differences from working on the Z. For instance, the trunk descends down just behind the rear cross member of the subframe assembly. This very much limits clearance for things like accessing the rear bolt of the differential mounting stud. It also will likely preclude me from adding a differential brace (which I had been considering this evening). Unlike the Z, this car will likely not run an external differential cooling setup with pump and remote heat exchanger. There just isn’t the space. But I did want to run this comparable setup on the G35 to get more seat time with understanding the responses of the LSD unit. Still working through a few other challenges and awaiting more deliveries this week from the Parts ??♂? Fairy.

These things take up the most time, but I think I’ve subconsciously enjoyed the challenges over the years. Only now am I realizing and acknowledging. https://lnkd.in/eQVFyeVS

A couple of side quests. Experimented with adapting a 350Z cover for use on an Infinit. New strut tower brace. New ball joints. New sway bar and sway bar end links. New hubs. New lower ball joints. Basically all of this snowballed from me noticing that the ball joints were torn. It’s fairly involved accessing and replacing them. So the rest of this was opportunistic maintenance/upgrades.
