“Energy is a key focal point for decarbonization strategies today. Burning fossil fuels to produce energy creates a high volume of emissions. This matters because we rely on energy for so many things. It powers our machines and technologies. It fuels our vehicles and so much more. Energy innovation and management practices are accelerating towards a ‘lower carbon economy’ or ‘clean energy transition’ -- phrases that mean decarbonization.” Sarah Weishaar, Impact Collective Group during our Decarbonization for Bottom Line Results webinar today.

? Employee Spotlight? Meet Tiffany Lechota ?? Tiffany is a Permit Coordinator at our Flint Service Center, as well as the founder of a non-profit called Down Right Awesome. When her second child, Ellie, was diagnosed with a form of Down Syndrome called Trisomy 21, she was inspired to help fundraise and advocate for Down Syndrome awareness. Her compassion and resilience inspire us to be better neighbors every day and remind us that a passionate community can make anything happen ?? #DownSyndromeAwarenessMonth

When people are in need, you can count on us to step up - even if that means traveling (far) outside our Michigan communities. And that remains true in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Our friends in the south need help, and we're on our way to provide it. Just as many have done for us in the past. Today, we sent 48 people – 15 three-person lineworker crews and three other support personnel, as well as equipment to Virginia. Restoring power is the least we can do as neighbors across the region work to pull their lives back together.
