??The Nantes-Jacksonville Partnership celebrated during French Week In early November, the #FrenchWeek celebrations provided an opportunity to honor the deep and lasting relationship between the cities of Nantes Métropole and City of Jacksonville. Honorary Consul Francois Kloc, alongside Sheila Kloc, Vice President of the Nantes Committee for the Jacksonville Sister Cities Association, had the pleasure of hosting the annual meeting of this association. This year’s event, attended by members of the Foreign Language Educators of North East Florida (FLENEF), emphasized the strong ties between the two cities, especially through their mutual dedication to #languageeducation and #culturalexchange. A key moment of the evening was the recognition of Dr. Joanne Davis, a prominent figure in foreign language education in Duval County, for her work and influence, especially in promoting #French. Another highlight was the presentation of the annual exchange program between Jacksonville and Nantes, organized by the JACKSONVILLE SISTER CITIES ASSOC INC, which allows students and French language enthusiasts to improve their language skills and cultural understanding through homestay programs. ???? #FrenchWeek #NantesJacksonville #SisterCities #CulturalExchange #LanguageEducation

Le conseil consulaire s’est réuni le 20 novembre 2024 autour du consul général Rapha?l Trapp pour se prononcer sur les demandes d’allocations sociales. En 2025, 20 compatriotes agés ou en situation de handicap seront aidés par le consulat. Le conseil consulaire a également validé les demandes de subventions au tissu associatif (STAFE). Un grand merci pour leur engagement aux élus Franck Bondrille, Président du conseil, Frederic Bernerd, Axelle Gault et Aline Martin - O'Brien ainsi qu’ aux représentants associatifs, Isabelle Brunswick (Miami Accueil), Alex Carru (Entraide Floridienne), Claire Francoulon (ADFE), et Mme Marie-Ange Joarlette (UFE).

During the mission to Miami of Mireille Guyader and Pascale Cohen, representatives from the Ambassade de France aux Etats-Unis, Mission pour la science & la technologie, Consul General Rapha?l Trapp hosted local French Health Tech leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs based in #SouthFlorida. Also present were representatives from the Les Conseillers du Commerce extérieur de la France (CCEFs) and French Tech Miami, aiming to raise funds and establish partnerships with local research institutes and hospitals. ?? ??Their discussions underscored Florida’s unique advantages for French Health Tech innovators. The participants explored the importance of engaging with local decision-makers, adopting innovative strategies, and addressing key challenges to successfully integrate French startups into the U.S. market. With themes such as cooperation in research and innovation in #BlueEconomy, #Oncology, #OneHealth, #Climate, and #AI, the French Trade Advisors Abroad, the French Tech Miami Representatives, and French public representatives are forging new pathways for innovation fostering future collaborations. ? ? ?? ??The consulate organized with the support of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council a panel discussion entitled "Heading for the United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice” which mainly focused on #oceansciences. ? -?Rapha?l Trapp, Consul general of France in Miami, traced the history of UN Ocean conferences, explained their link with the Sustainable Development Goal 14 on "life below water" and presented the diplomatic objectives of France for the #Nice conference. -?Mireille Guyader, Counselor for Science and Technology at the Ambassade de France aux Etats-Unis, highlighted the One Ocean Science Congress that will be held prior to the conference to strengthen and better diffuse knowledge related to Ocean sciences. ? Then, four South Florida University #professors and #researchers presented their work: -?Claire Beatrix Paris, Professor of Ocean Sciences at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric and Earth Science, explained the key role of larvae and other planktonic organisms; ?? -?Jeremy Kiszka, Associate professor at the?FIU Institute of Environment,?demonstrated the impact of marine mammals on ecosystem dynamics; ?? -?Laurent Cherubin, Professor of Physical Oceanography at?Florida Atlantic University?showed the link between large-scale current system and climate change; ?? - Brian K. We brainstormed ways to connect the Miami-Dade and French Tech and Innovation ecosystems through innovative programs like NETVA. The visiting delegation will meet with Loren Parra, MBA Chief Bay and Water Resources Officer Office of Resilience, Miami-Dade County at Miami-Dade Beacon Council.
