?? Consul General Katherine Raeymaekers had the pleasure of visiting Plant Vogtle, the biggest USA nuclear plant last Friday with her fellow Consul Generals. The visit allowed her to get familiar with the challenges faced by Georgia Power Company to provide secure, clean and affordable energy to its customers, while at the same time providing a safe environment, be it on emissions or radiation. ? Regardless the position anyone may have on nuclear energy, the visit left our Consul General a profound impression, a lot of food for thought and rich discussions on technologies, climate change, and future challenges…

The Consulate General of Belgium in Atlanta in partnership with the Bastogne War Museum and Kennesaw State University is pleased to announce the opening of "The Beginning of the End: The Battle of the Bulge" traveling exhibit in honor of the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. The exhibit commemorates and honors all those who served during the Battle of the Bulge, remembering our veterans service and the veterans we have lost since. The exhibit will provide general knowledge on the Battle of the Bulge. There will be some historical artifacts on display such as a piece from the Sherman Tank nicknamed the Barracuda. The exhibit will be on display at Kennesaw State University Sturgis Library starting November 21, 2024 until January 19, 2025. Honored to host Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and fellow European Consuls General for a productive breakfast meeting at the Consulate today. We had the opportunity to discuss Georgia’s valuable connections with Europe and explore ways to enhance our transatlantic partnerships. Collaboration like this strengthens the bonds between Georgia and the EU, creating more opportunities for growth, investment, and innovation on both sides of the Atlantic. We’re very grateful to Secretary Raffensperger for joining us during such a busy time. His insights, alongside those of our European colleagues, made for a productive discussion.

Consul General Katherine Raeymaekers had the pleasure of visiting BOPLAN USA - Flexible Barrier Experts, another BE company with a strong foothold in the USA. During her visit she learned about the innovative safety products Boplan is known for. One of the key features she noted was “flexibility”. Their innovative concept allows for high quality safety products to not only protect staff, material and equipment but also limiting collateral damage to materials and settings in case of accidents.?Boplan’s flexibility stretches also beyond as the company and products are able to adapt to any customer demand, environment and location setting.
