We got the chance to visit their innovation centre and learn about their smart city infrastructure, the partners they work with currently and explore opportunities for future collaboration with Irish companies in Sports Tech, Med Tech and Fin Tech. Consul General Groome had a productive meeting with Speaker of the House of Representatives Jon Burns yesterday, highlighting the connections between Ireland and Georgia and the opportunities to deepen collaboration between both communities ???? ????

Consul General Groome was delighted to meet with former US Congressman Kwanza Hall today. Congressman Hall is now Chairman of Development Fulton County. They discussed investment and economic opportunities between Georgia and Ireland. The conversation highlighted a shared vision to strengthen our bilateral trade.

It’s been a busy first three months here at the Consulate for Consul General Frank Groome and Vice Consul Nicole Sheils, who have hit the ground running. From community engagements to building partnerships across the region, their focus on strengthening ties has already made a strong impact ???? ????

CG Groome had a fantastic time celebrating King’s Day with our wonderful colleagues at Consulate General of Belgium in Atlanta. Huge thanks to Katherine Raeymaekers for hosting a brilliant reception and bringing us all together for this special occasion.

Vice Consul Nicole Sheils was delighted to meet with Dr Sara Kennedy, Walter O Leary and Paraic Fanning from the South East Technological University yesterday. They discussed the impressive work being done to build collaborations in education and through cultural immersion programs with colleges and universities here in the US.?

It was a busy and exciting weekend for the Consulate. Vice Consul Nicole Sheils kicked things off on Friday with an incredible performance by the Friel Sisters and Olivia Bradley at IrishFest Atlanta. She then traveled to Charleston, SC, where she attended the Charleston Literary Festival, introducing renowned author Colm Tóibín, and later attended the GAA Convention. Consul General Frank Groome had the pleasure of speaking at the Irish Tea during IrishFest, celebrating the contributions of women in Irish arts. A special thank you to Mayor Pro Tem William Morthland and council members Lee Hill, David Johnson, and Christine Hall for joining us and proclaiming November 9 as IrishFest Day in Roswell. It was a wonderful day, and we loved meeting everyone who visited our pop-up Consulate. Congratulations to Teresa M. Finley and the incredible team of volunteers for making this year’s IrishFest a wonderful success ???

It was wonderful to welcome newly arrived Consulate General of Ireland, Atlanta Consul General Frank Groome and Vice Consul Nicole Sheils to City of Atlanta! MOIIA and Mayor Andre Dickens met to discuss the opportunities that arose from Mayor's trip to Dublin, mutual priorities, and continued collaboration between Atlanta and Ireland. We are looking forward to enhancing our bonds even further under Consul General Groome's leadership!

This morning, CG Groome had the pleasure of meeting with Representative Shea Roberts to discuss shared priorities and explore ways to deepen the strong ties between Ireland and Georgia ??????????
