CPU was named a recipient of an important step-down program grant from NYS Governor Kathy Hochul helping people with disabilities and mental illness transition to community housing instead of hospital settings. The program will free up space in critical care centers while empowering these individuals to achieve fulfilling lives as part of inclusive, welcoming neighborhoods in Hudson Valley. CPU was proud to attend the Rally in the Valley to Protect Medicaid & Disability Rights to demand a 7.8% rate increase in reimbursement, alongside hundreds of fellow demonstrators, politicians, and leaders. CPU Hudson Valley Executive Director Penny-Lynn Pagliaro informed the crowd from her perspective as a provider and parent of children with disabilities. While intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) can limit certain functions that others possess, there are opportunities in every organization that can be openings for professional achievement as well as positive societal shifts. Thank you to Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke who visited CPU's Brooklyn Day Hab programs on Friday. Said Clarke: “I see the value CP Unlimited provides to the families, the community, and the people here— creating and fostering an environment where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can grow and achieve fulfilling opportunities."

CP Unlimited celebrates Women’s History Month and all the female pioneers, teachers, allies, and change-makers who have helped shape our world for the better! This year, with the theme of “Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations”, we acknowledge and thank all the committed educators working at CPU and helping the persons with disabilities achieve fulfilling lives through patient, caring, and committed instruction. From life lessons to classroom opportunities, there is nothing they can’t impart for the people we support. #womenshistorymonth
