The Owners Voice to the Construction Industry
关于我们
Formed in the fall of 2000 by construction and engineering executives representing major corporations from across the United States, CURT's primary goal is to enact broad, effective owner representation and increased owner leadership on construction industry issues. Continuing the 30-year effort of the Construction Committee of the Business Roundtable, CURT provides a national forum for the exchange of information, views, practices and policies of construction users from an array of industries. An autonomous, not-for-profit organization, CURT strives to produce meaningful changes within the construction industry-promoting overall cost effectiveness; improving the way construction is planned, managed, justified and executed. Additionally, CURT works toward changing and improving what owners allow, require and accept responsibility for on their domestic and global construction projects.

In CURT’s latest blog, Amanda Portinari, Ambition Theory, explores the gap between corporate commitments and real opportunities for women in construction. While companies implement ERGs and mentorship programs, they often lack the structure to drive real career advancement. The 2025 Building Better Report reveals that 43% of women say their company’s commitment to advancing women only “somewhat” aligns with reality. Sponsorship, where leaders actively advocate for women’s promotions, is the real game-changer, yet participation remains low. To create real change, companies must embed sponsorship into their culture and view leadership development as a business imperative, not just a diversity initiative.
