A Lenoir-Rhyne University graduate with Cum Laude honors in Politics and Law, Makenna excels both academically and athletically, having earned All-Conference honors in Women’s Lacrosse. Her impressive internship in our mergers and acquisitions department showcased her knack for tackling complex projects and her eagerness to learn. As we begin Energy Awareness Month this October, we proudly recognize Heather Dylla, VP of Sustainability, Laurel McCarthy, Data Analyst, and the Fred Smith Company team for their participation in the ENERGY STAR Annual Meeting and the AEE World Conference in Nashville, TN. These events offered invaluable insights into construction energy management. Our team not only shared CPI's ongoing efforts to reduce energy consumption but also enhanced our collaboration with external partners. We were honored to participate in the Hill Days event, which was co-sponsored by National Asphalt Pavement Association, National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) and National Ready Mixed Concrete Association! Representatives from Construction Partners, Inc. and our operating companies united to meet with state delegations and advocate for crucial legislative priorities, focusing on infrastructure investment and other key industry initiatives. A special highlight was our meeting with David Rouzer, a pivotal member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, representing NC's 7th district, home to our Wilmington plant. Introducing Emlyn Lucas, our new Deputy General Counsel at Construction Partners! With over twelve years of experience in corporate and general counsel roles, Emlyn brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. A proud alumna of Troy University and Faulkner University, she is dedicated to positively impacting our employees and the communities we serve. This exciting partnership allows its talented workforce and hot-mix asphalt plant to join forces with our operating company, Wiregrass Construction Company. By expanding our resources and services, we are positioned to enhance the transportation infrastructure and connectivity in the greater Mobile and southwestern Alabama region. We are pleased to announce the acquisition of Robinson Paving Company, based in Columbus, Georgia. This strategic move integrates three hot-mix asphalt plants, along with their associated crews and equipment, into our operations in Columbus and the surrounding areas. Fred J.
