This week is National Pharmacy Week, and ConsortiEX would like to recognize the invaluable contributions pharmacists and pharmacy technicians make to patient care in hospitals, outpatient clinics, and other healthcare settings, ensuring safe and healthy communities. In health systems across the country, it is the pharmacy that ensures and verifies the pedigree of each drug entering its doors, and the pharmacy is where doses are compounded -- pharmacists ensure that safe and accurate medications are delivered to the bedside to improve patient outcomes. We encourage you all, this week or any another, to take a minute to thank a pharmacist the next time you see them!

Last week, the FDA issued an announcement extending the enforcement date for DSCSA compliance. Within this announcement, the FDA advised, “eligible dispensers and their trading partners [to] continue to rely on current methods for verification of product at the package level for products transacted by eligible dispensers from November 27, 2024, until November 27, 2025.” ConsortiEX continues to work with supply chain partners to satisfy all DSCSA requirements, as soon as made possible by industry trading partners.
