We were honored to join in the celebrations of the designations of Chuckwalla and Sáttítla Highlands national monuments along with the Biden administration's conservation legacy on Tuesday, January 14 at the White House as well as Secretary Haaland's farewell speech. The DC signing ceremony took place after the original designation event in the Coachella Valley was canceled on January 7 due to wind. Both DC events highlighted the impressive list of accomplishments of the Biden administration and work that we were able to help support over the past four years including: 15 new, restored, or expanded national monuments; the BLM Public Lands Rule; the America the Beautiful Initiative to protect 30% of our lands and waters by 2030; oil and gas reform; an outdoors for ALL; smart climate policies; and other other forward-looking policies. Conservation Communications is grateful that we get to work alongside so many compassionate, dedicated, smart, and empathetic people on important, lasting, and change-making work. May we stand together and carry on to connect, do good, and make change.

At the end of May, we were honored to help put on this year's #ElevateConservation #OutdoorsForAll event in Denver and help kick off the #OutsideFestival. In its sixth year, the event's goal is to honor the intersection of outdoor recreation and conservation, celebrate the ways we already work together, challenge ourselves to do more, and acknowledge how equitable policies are good for us all. This year’s honorees included the Cheyenne & Arapaho Tribes for their leadership in the renaming of Mt. Blue Sky; Governor Jared Polis and the coalition of groups and legislators who worked for the creation of the landmark Climate Resilient Wildlife and Land Fund and for expanding the important conservation easement tax credit program; and Diane Regas, the retiring CEO and President of Trust for Public Land, who was honored for her leadership and commitment to connecting everyone to the benefits and joys of the outdoors. “We support the Bureau of Land Management's final Public Lands Rule because it will better ensure that our public lands continue to offer unique recreational opportunities & drive economic value & jobs for Americans, but also buffer important habitats against the growing impacts of climate change." Today is the 118th anniversary of the Antiquities Act! So thankful that we got to help put on and celebrate another Elevate Conservation: Outdoors for All event in Denver yesterday! More snaps and videos to come soon.
The Outside Festival is off to a start! The Elevate Conservation Outdoors for All event kicked it all off last evening by honoring the intersection of outdoor recreation and conservation, celebrating the ways we already work together, challenging ourselves to do more, and acknowledging how equitable policies are good for us all. This year’s honorees included the Cheyenne & Arapaho Tribes for their leadership in the renaming of Mt. Blue Sky and Governor Polis and the coalition of groups and legislators who worked for the creation of the landmark Climate Resilient Wildlife and Land Fund and for expanding the important conservation easement tax credit program. Additionally, Diane Regas, the retiring CEO and President of Trust for Public Land (TPL), was honored for her leadership and commitment to connecting everyone to the benefits and joys of the outdoors. “Congratulations to this year’s honorees, whose work has furthered our state’s commitment to making our public lands accessible to more Coloradans while protecting and conserving our incredible natural resources. We are inspired by their accomplishments, which will have lasting impacts in the years and decades to come, and look forward to our continued partnership with Elevate Conservation. Our shared commitment to conservation and ‘outdoors for all’ is critical to the continued vibrancy of outdoor recreation in Colorado,” said Conor Hall, Director of the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office.

It's Conservation Communication's 7th Anniversary today! This year has been a tough one personally with the deaths of my brother and nearly 16 year-old dog; along with some scary health events and issues; among other things. Through it all, I have been incredibly grateful for being able to do work that I care about with?empathetic and compassionate people. There have also been some really, really big conservation wins this year thanks to the Biden administration, including: the designations of two new national monuments and two expanded monuments (this week!); a lot of great final Bureau of Land Management rules that put conservation issues on equal footing with extractive uses (about time); some wins in the Arctic; and well, a whole lot more.? So I send another big thank you to the many collaborative clients, colleagues, friends, and family for helping me throughout this year and journey. Cheers to seven years of Conservation Communications! May there be many more years so that we may continue to Connect. Do Good. Make Change.?
