Last night we kicked off our 37th 48in48 event!!! This one is our Women's Build event - over 300 women around the world will be building 48 nonprofit websites this weekend - and one of my favorite humans, ??Jo Ann Herold, MBA, ACC, gave the keynote address ?? Her message to the volunteers was inspiring and heartfelt and positive, just like Jo Ann herself.

Chief Growth Officer at Hothouse, Inc. / Executive Advisory Board at AMA Atlanta

“If you want to go far, go together”. I joined AMA Atlanta many years ago to see what I could learn and who I could meet. Along the way, not only did the events keep me sharp on current marketing trends, I also made life long friends who go out of their way for others. A community that you can lean into to be a better person. Last night’s AMY Awards was magical. A wonderland theme brought to life by celebrating colorful work and the colorful talent in the room. Congrats to Ken Bernhardt for receiving our first ever Visionary Award for setting up the collegiate scholarship program many years ago and for his ongoing contributions. Including ??Jo Ann Herold, MBA, ACC’s incredible poem to Ken. To Wonya Lucas for receiving our Lifetime Achievement Award. Including Scot Safon’s incredible story of friendship. To Guy R. Powell for receiving Board Member of the year. To Sharon Harris for receiving Volunteer of the year. Including the best introduction I ever heard from Sequoyah Glenn, MBA. To our DECA and Collegiate Scholarship recipients and Mentor and Mentee winners. And to all of the category winners and guests who celebrated a great night of creativity and community. And, of course to Christina Steiner, Kim Pollard and Nina Norris Hines, BBA for bringing the event to life! And to Paul Carpenter and his team at Rise Studios for putting together a special video for Wonya. And to our fearless Mad Hatter and leader- John Levinson. It was great to be with people throughout the night including Tonya O'Connell Ashish Arya Robert Dimson Robert Dolan Joe Koufman Aaron Gill Rich Nobliski, MBA Murray Goldstein Jon Watts Vicky Whitley Wilkens Leah K. Rasori Missy Taylor, MBA Kari Hiner Sarah Tourville Roberto Gomez Jr. Trey Toler Tom Carr Douwe Bergsma Kate Metzinger and so many others.

    Co-Founder, Rootstock

The more I get involved with Conscious Capitalism, Inc., the more I believe in it and the more I see how it truly aligns with our work at Rootstock. During yesterday’s Conscious Capitalism Atlanta Essentials Reunion event, we revisited the four core tenets of CC: - Higher Purpose - Stakeholder Orientation - Conscious Leadership - Conscious Culture As we briefly unpacked them, some of the language felt like it could have been pulled directly from the Rootstock website! For example: Higher Purpose: “Elevating humanity through business begins with knowing why your company exists.” - Our work is all about helping leaders elevate their field. This is why our Kernel of Truth offering (your Thought Leadership Starting Point) is so important. (More here: https://lnkd.in/eit9NtYm) Conscious Leadership: “Conscious Leaders are the standard-bearer for your company’s higher purpose… Without better leaders, there is no better world.” - As you work to elevate your field, you’re simultaneously growing your brand and scaling your business. This is why our Radicle Report offering (your Thought Leadership Position) is so important. (More here: https://lnkd.in/euMnC3Rz) From here, building out your thought leadership strategy and content ecosystem, and then consistently creating high-value content, generating conversations, and making new connections, will build that clout you seek as the leader who is elevating your field with your thought leadership. Curious about getting started on your #ThoughtLeadership journey? Let’s chat. (Also, big thanks to Matthew Sutton, CFRE for being his usual amazing facilitator self, and to United Way of Greater Atlanta for being such gracious hosts.)

Last night, I had the pleasure of attending the Female Founder event, co-hosted by Jenn Graham with Inclusivv and Jennifer Bonnett with Invest Atlanta. It was more than a social gathering. We came together to share what it’s like to be a female entrepreneur in Atlanta: what’s working, what’s missing, and where our city can step up to help us grow and thrive. Here are some preliminary takeaways: - Childcare solutions that make it possible to build a business and a family - A centralized hub of resources - Funding, especially for professional services (often overlooked) - Tax credits? - Help with lead generation to unlock more revenue and reach Atlanta has an abundance of resources. I’m grateful for organizations like Invest Atlanta that are being intentional and coordinated to support female founders further. Let’s build a city where every woman with a business idea has the support she needs to bring it to life and grow it! If you attended, what resonated most with you??If you missed it, what do you think is missing to unleash the full potential of women entrepreneurs? Karen Robinson Cope, Lior Vainer, Heather Gibbons, Kathy Long, Cindy Abel, Bari Schlam Holmes, CERP
