We are hearing a lot of noise about the promise of private equity in our profession. One of the touted benefits is hiring non-CPAs to lead CPA firms. This idea is a breath of fresh air. ?? Congratulations to Kris Russell, ACC, CPA, CMA for becoming an Associate Certified Coach (ACC)! This is a significant milestone as a professional coach. In accounting there are three Es towards licensure but in coaching there are four. ??Education- 60+ hours of coaching education ??Experience- 100+ hours of coaching experience, plus 10 hours of Mentor Coaching with an eligible mentor coach ??Examination- Pass the ICF Credentialing Exam ?? Evaluation- Passing score of a performance evaluation The evaluation is known as the most rigorous standard. This is where an ICF Assessor reviews a recorded coaching session with a transcript submitted by the applicant. The session must last 20-60 minutes and demonstrate eight different competencies all in a single session. There are "coaches" and then there are professionally certified coaches.
