Four geologists, including Dallin and Erin from ConocoPhillips, spent time last year collecting sand samples from each of the five beaches the Allies stormed on D-Day to see whether shrapnel remained 80 years later. On Sword Beach, Erin collects samples and displays a magnet with metal and magnetite particles attached to it.
