Beginning January 1, 2025, U.S. manufacturers will transition to new refrigerants in HVAC systems and appliances as part of efforts to reduce high-GWP substances like HFCs under the AIM Act. These changes mean that FMs can expect rising costs for HFCs and new regulatory requirements for handling flammable A2L refrigerants.
