Connectopod is excited to announce a program led by muralist, Levi Ponce! We are restoring murals along Van Nuys Blvd., and creating new ones under Levi's leadership, and telling stories along the way. Art heals communities and creatives healthy narratives. We want to do it large! Our first restoration was the Lady of the Valley Mural at the corner of Van Nuys Blvd. and Arleta Ave. The community showed up and pitched in over the course of 10 days, and the result was amazing. Check out all of the amazing people of all ages that attended the celebration on February 25, 2024! We are planning additional mural renovations. We want to make this a project that spans the course of 2024 through 2025 and spans the length of Van Nuys Blvd.! To that end, we've applied to the LA REPAIR Grant and are on the ballot for the Pacoima Arleta Zone. We are calling on everyone that lives, works, and attends school in Pacoima and Arleta to vote today at repair.lacity.gov! Thanks to L.A. Repair @lacivilrights, we have the opportunity to decide how to spend $8.5 Million of the City's budget amongst 9 different REPAIR Zones for projects that benefit our neighborhoods. #LAREPAIR #GetOutToVote #LAISFOREVERYONE
