THIS IS THE YEAR EVERYTHING CHANGED - TELL ME I’M WRONG?! ?? I think this year will go down as the year where “Linear” TV truly excited stage left. Most of what I’ve heard and seen from this years events have been around Netflix, YouTube, Tubi etc. That is not to say the powers behind the biggest “Linear” properties have abandoned that side of the industry but if I was looking for growth and opportunity, it didn’t feel like “Here’s what’s happening with our O&O’s” was much of the conversation. So - what was??? Certainly things like this ?? where the likes of Todd Kaplan - CMO at PepsiCo are discussing how big brands are leveraging relationships to talk to consumers where AND when they want. To me it all just felt a little different and truthfully I’m excited about that. 8 years ago (a lifetime in this industry) The Trade Desk came to a little digital group I had (and still have) an ownership stake in and said “are you open to being an early adapter in this space?” We happily said YES. Today with MiO Marketplace we are leveraging dozens of technical partners and delivery providers helping brands of all sizes find their way. Need a roadmap? Watch Todd!! ?? Soooo - do you think I’m right? Did you go to the upfront and if so, what was your feedback this year? Leave it in the comments below!
What a rush it was to present at YouTube Brandcast last week at Lincoln Center! ?? It was truly an honor to be the sole brand presenter at this year’s YouTube Brandcast event, and it was great to represent some of the incredible work we have done at Pepsi with YouTube over the years! YouTube is such a unique platform in today’s cluttered media landscape, as it truly is the place where culture happens, serving as a hub that brings together the power of creators, the latest Google AI technology and media tools, and the ability to showcase unique brand-owned content at scale. It is rare to find a partner that can drive cultural relevance, deep fan engagement, and mass yet highly targeted reach - all in one place. ?? Huge congrats to Neal Mohan, Sean Downey, Anne Marie N., Adam Stewart, Melissa Poulos, and the rest of the incredible team at YouTube team for pulling together a truly top notch event! And I’d be remiss without giving a massive shout out to both Jessica Nabi and Lauren Vallario for bringing it all together! It was a fun event filled with creators, musicians, and killer content from top to bottom. And if nothing else, I can now firmly check off one more thing from my bucket list - opening for Billie Eilish at Lincoln Center! ?? ?? Congrats to the entire YouTube team!! #Creators #Marketing #Creativity #Digital #Media #Brandcast Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts PepsiCo
