We proudly took part in #ReadfortheRecord2024, a day when millions of readers in classrooms, libraries and communities come together to celebrate literacy by reading the same book on the same day. This year, everyone enjoyed "Piper Chen Sings" by Grammy Award-winning Hamilton star Phillipa Soo and Maris Pasquale Doran. ???? We were thrilled to have these wonderful guest readers share the joy of reading with our students: ? Virginia Savietto, M.A., who read to students in Spanish ? Betsy Cohen ? Valerie Silverman ? Sonia Kay And of course, our teachers read the book with students across our school. Thank you to all our readers for helping students develop a love of reading! #ReadForTheRecord #LiteracyMatters #communitysupport Jumpstart

Nonprofit educational center that empowers students and young adults with autism with specialized academics and therapy
关于我们
We're a nonprofit educational center that delivers high-quality, specialized instruction and therapies to students with autism in Palm Beach County. Autism prevalence has reached record levels in the U.S. with 1 of every 36 children being diagnosed with autism today. This means that we will all interact with people who have autism, and it's time for all of us to help build a world where everyone belongs. Our school serves student with autism from PreK through young adulthood. We provide functional academics and targeted therapies to help students achieve their full potential. Our highly acclaimed Health & Wellness Program includes swim lessons to combat drowning -- the No. 1 cause of death for children with autism. Many students with autism learn differently, and our swim lessons are specifically designed to help them master this essential skill. As a Title 1 school with more than 80% of our student population coming from disadvantaged families, we need financial support to continue our work. Individual and corporate donations made to Connections directly impact the lives of students with autism and their ability to learn, gain independence and find where they belong. Please visit our website to see how you can make an impact.

Thank you, Commissioner Gregg Weiss and Virginia Savietto, M.A., for touring Connections and collaborating with us on how we can better serve students and adult clients with autism. We appreciate your support and look forward to our continued work together.
? The mission of nonprofit Connections is to empower students with Autism to learn academic, social, vocational and independent-living skills using evidence-based strategies and a family-centered approach. It's a mission I fully support, so I was delighted to spend time with the Connections team last Friday and learn all about how they serve more than 120 students, ages 3-22, with Autism and related disabilities. ???? In one of the largest studies of its kind, researchers in Hong Kong analyzed stool samples of children and identified 31 biological markers that appear to be associated with autism.
