Beyond career advice, she reinforced the power of giving back and reminded students how important it is to pour into the community that shaped them. The discussion gave the students the chance to ask questions, gain clarity on their goals, and walk away feeling empowered about taking their next steps.

The CT Sun was invited to the 4th Annual Black History Celebration presented by the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce, Booker T. Washington Empowerment Center, and the Mystic & Noank Library. From the Black National Anthem and spoken word, to drum solos inspired by the Mother Land, the presence of our ancestors was felt. Shamare G.
