Many years ago, when we were a tiny baby business just getting started on New Park Ave, our neighbor, Hartford Flavor Company, asked us to participate in a community fair they were hosting with Real Art Ways and a number of Parkville area businesses. As a marketing agency, we had nothing to sell but wanted to show up and be a part of the action anyways, celebrating the community in which we live, work, and play. We rolled up with a big bulletin board and spent the day asking people the seemingly simple question—“what makes you unique?” It was an experiment, really, in the interest of sparking conversation and connection. The board filled up with responses! Funny - most adults had a really hard time answering while almost all the kids had no issue rattling off what they felt made them special. I recall one little girl in particular told me she was unique because she wanted to be a congresswoman when she grew up. She was so so so excited to write her answer, jumping up and down and doing a twirl as she pinned it to the board.?????? Fast forward to tonight, a beautiful social hour with the Connecticut Women's Council at HFC’s gorgeous new Pratt Street tasting room, located one block from where I also moved my business downtown last year. A beautiful, full-circle moment - then and now pictured below. Cheers to Hartford Flavor’s continued success, to community, and to small businesses supporting one another in Hartford!! #hartford #hartfordhasit #smallbusiness #events
