For many Indians, a psychological barrier existed in our aspirations for leadership roles in international organizations. These barriers were charmingly disrupted by the superb Ms. Indira Nooyi. Her success gave us confidence and taught us to dream big. In this light, it was an absolute honour and privilege to interact with Ms. Nooyi at the Venture Clash event hosted by Connecticut Innovations at IIT Madras Research Park (IITMRP). The setting was ideal as the event sought to facilitate the expansion of five promising startups from India (including IITM’s own AgniKul Cosmos ) into the US. Over the course of an engaging evening that saw the companies present their pitches and a networking session to interact with some of the brightest minds in the VC and startup space, I realized that the Indian startup space has truly arrived at the world stage!

Check it out! Drew D'Alelio recently shared the story of our ClimateTech Fund at last week’s ClimateHaven event. ?? He spoke about what it takes to be a successful climate investor and how in addition to capital, CI provides mentorship, hands on strategic support, industry connections, and commercialization support to help our startups succeed.
Reflecting on an insightful conversation about investing in early-stage climate ventures, covering everything from deal flow to building a successful fund. A huge thank you to Drew D'Alelio for leading such an engaging discussion and to the audience for asking so many important questions. Our key takeaways from the talk: Early-stage investing: Investors seek unique, patentable IP that is both commercializable and scalable, balancing innovation with real-world market fit. Green flags in early stage companies? Strong teams, clear market demand, and de-risked pathways to scale. Building a climate fund: It takes capital, expertise, and strategic partnerships to launch a successful fund. Climate investing requires patient capital and strong alignment with government, industry, and research institutions. Beyond capital: Funds like Connecticut Innovations don’t just provide funding, they also offer mentorship, hands on strategic support, industry connections, and commercialization support to help startups succeed.. Thank you, Drew D'Alelio, for sharing the story of the Climate Tech Fund at CI- from inception to now- and for being such a valuable community partner to ClimateHaven.
