We're so grateful for the partnership of the Connecticut Council on Developmental Disabilities — their financial support was a key catalyst for our Every Age, Every Ability campaign to disrupt ageism and ableism! The Connecticut Council on Developmental Disabilities undertakes advocacy, capacity building and systemic change activities consistent with the federal Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000. Last month, we welcomed 24 participants from 15 towns to a Daring Dialogue preview session at the Bristol Public Library. The preview demonstrates the content of our community workshops for municipal and nonprofit leaders, helping them determine whether the format is right for their communities. As always, it was a thought-provoking discussion — thank you to everyone who attended! Future Daring Dialogue preview opportunities will be announced on social channels and in our e-newsletter. Love this new, first-of-its-kind resource from Healthy Places by Design and the Narratives for Health Initiative — Transformative Narratives for Socially Connected Communities. Narratives are a powerful tool to convey how we view the world and how our communities operate. While dominant narratives can either help or hinder efforts to create equitable and socially connected communities, transformative narratives align values, shift harmful narratives and influence action.?Explore and be inspired at https://lnkd.in/gTT9th-s #transformativenarratives #equity #socialconnection
