Exciting news, especially during Women’s History Month! Cheers to our founder, Kenge Adams, who was recognized as a 2025 Leading Women to Watch?, an inspiring group of change-makers, innovators, and trailblazers. Kenge is grateful for the recognition, and joins in celebrating women who – like her – bet on themselves. In Kenge's case, she left the corporate world to transform herself as an entrepreneur. Founding Connect Business Consulting, LLC in 2019 followed by Nkenge's Gallery, our sister business, in 2024 has changed her life. We were pleased to help stage a successful program in Racine at the Verdant Hotel to support the Mahogany Black Arts & Cultural Center Inc. The Friday night “Pathways to Progress Through Preservation” kickoff event highlighted the Cultural Center’s work to preserve and restore local Black history in Racine and Kenosha. Our founder, Kenge Adams, who grew up in Racine, handled program planning. Our sister business, Nkenge's Gallery, was an event sponsor. It was enjoyable for Kenge to facilitate a panel on the importance of local Black historical preservation, well-timed during Black History Month. Thanks to speakers Dr. Julius Crump of Carthage College, and Clayborn Benson and Jamila Benson of the Wisconsin Black Historical Society. For more information on the Cultural Center, see blackartsandculture.org

Inspiring message from our founder, Kenge Adams, for MLK Day!
Founder of Nkenge's Gallery and CEO of Connect Business Consulting | Corporate Partnerships | STEAM Advocate | Leadership Development | African Art Exhibitions
On MLK Day, I think about passing the enduring inspiration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s message on to our youth. The observance of King’s birthday on Monday has been a federal holiday since it was signed into law in 1983, before my kids were born. On Monday, I’ll be reflecting about passing King’s inspiration on to my son, Maxwell Adams, and my daughter, Sabrina Adams, as well as the youth I teach in Milwaukee classrooms and programs. It’s an enduring message of nonviolent social change, faith, education, and unity. King entered Morehouse College in Atlanta as an early admission at age 15 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Morehouse holds special meaning to me as my husband Dr. Reginald Adams and my son, Max, are alums. The Morehouse Martin Luther King International Chapel honors MLK's legacy through peace, justice, and spiritual ethics. (Max is shown photographed there.) MLK's dedication to teaching and education resonates with me as I continue to focus on youth programs in my work. By the time of his graduation from Morehouse in 1948, King had decided that nonviolent social action was his calling, and that?religion was his best means toward that end. King earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Systematic Theology from Boston University in 1955. Happy MLK Day! (Milwaukee statue shown: The 1998 bronze sculpture by Erik Blome depicts MLK Jr.?standing on a pedestal of books. It was commissioned by the YWCA of Greater Milwaukee and is located in front of the King Heights apartments on North Dr. Martin Luther King Drive.) #MLKDay2025 #history #legacy
