Congregational Health and Education Network (CHEN)

Last month, CHEN and Nashville General Hospital launched the Prostate Cancer Screening IMPACT ECHO Project, supported by the American Cancer Society. During two community events, our dedicated clinical research nurse conducted surveys and provided essential education on prostate health to the men in attendance. Medical professionals and selected speakers fostered an environment for open, healthy conversations among men to discuss their health while the clinical team offered a variety of health screenings, referrals to specialists, and on-site prostate screening appointments. We extend our gratitude to Lake Providence Missionary Baptist Church and Second Missionary Baptist Church for hosting these events, helping us advance our mission to improve the lives of cancer patients and their families through #advocacy, #research, and patient support, ensuring everyone has access to prevention, detection, treatment, and survivorship resources. #PublicHealth #CommunityHealth #FaithBased #MensHealth

It was a joy to attend the Second Missionary Baptist Church 4th Annual Educational Banquet. Bishop Barlow was a gracious host as we celebrated the theme of "Togetherness". Keynote speaker James. E. Callahan III championed mental health and emotional wellness, educating and providing tools to attendees. Yesterday, we were privileged to participate in TN Governor’s Faith-Based and Community Initiative - Middle Tennessee CEO Summit, where we engaged, learned, and discussed strategies for driving community impact. It was truly inspiring to connect with fellow leaders and explore avenues to make a positive difference in our community.
