Artificial intelligence can be a helpful career tool—when used wisely. According to Amy Cable, Manager of Recruiting and Talent Acquisition at Cisco, AI can assist with editing and polishing your resume, but it’s best not to rely on it to create your resume from scratch. Your resume should highlight your unique skills and experience, and AI may unintentionally make your application feel too generic. For more actionable tips like this, check out the Career Connections Program’s "Ask the Recruiter" series. These interactive sessions connect you with hiring managers who share up-to-date strategies to help you stand out in today’s competitive job market. On Thursday, we were honored to be joined by Joyce M. Abbott at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women. The award-winning educator who inspired "Abbott Elementary" came to teaching via the United States Army’s Troops to Teachers program, where she served as a soldier for ten years and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. As we pause to honor our Veterans today, we share Abbott's moving words about this day (see her full post on Instagram - @therealmsabbott: https://lnkd.in/exNSM9EU) "I remember when I was in the classroom, and Veteran’s Day would arrive, many of my students were unaware of the holiday. They knew they were off school, but they didn’t understand why. I took joy in explaining to them that this day was set aside with respect and recognition of the contributions our veterans and their families, caregivers, and survivors have made to the cause of peace and freedom around the world. To all the veterans around the world, even those who sacrificed with love for a country that didn’t always love them back… Happy Veteran’s Day ???? Only you know what it has personally meant and what it has cost to hold the title of 'Veteran' I salute you today."

Unwavering. Indomitable. Impassioned. Another icon joins the California Conference for Women keynote lineup. Talk about a life without fear. Jane Fonda has spent the past 60 years making her mark on Hollywood and the world — even when her activism threatened to destroy her reputation. This February 12th, Fonda joins Simone Biles, Brittney Griner, Padma Lakshmi and more on our keynote stage at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. Experience inspiration, courage, and hope in one woman's steady commitment to leaving the world a better place than she found it. Be there to see it: https://bit.ly/3ArlDo3

Let this sink in. 50 years ago today, on October 28, 1974 women got the right to apply for credit cards in their own names, regardless of marital status. Just 50 years ago. The Equal Credit Opportunity Act, signed into law by President Gerald Ford, prohibits credit discrimination based on gender, race, marital status, age, or national origin. Credit discrimination was pervasive until the 1970s, with lenders often citing "stability" concerns for denying single women credit. The Act also helps protect small businesses owned by women and minorities, enabling access to the credit needed to start and grow their ventures. Since the Act's passage, the number of women-owned businesses in the U.S. has grown dramatically, with access to credit playing a crucial role. Since the 70s, the number of women-owned businesses has increased 30x. #ConferencesForWomen #Equality #Women

Did you know: Today, nearly 1 in 5 girls do not complete lower-secondary education? And nearly 4 in 10 girls do not complete upper-secondary school. As we recognize International Day of the Girl Child, we join in celebrating the power of girls’ voices and their vision for a brighter future. This year’s theme, ‘Girls’ Vision for the Future’, reminds us of the urgent need to address the barriers girls continue to face. Education is a critical key to unlocking girls’ potential, yet too many girls are still denied this basic right. This impacts not only their lives but also the strength of their families, communities, and economies. At the Conferences for Women, we stand with advocates like Malala, who work passionately for equal access to education. With the right support and resources, the potential of the world’s 1.1 billion girls is truly limitless. When girls lead, everyone benefits, and our collective future is brighter. Watch Malala’s inspiring words from the 2019 Massachusetts Conference for Women.
