关于我们
The Conference on Crimes Against Women offers more than 200 workshops, case studies, and computer labs over 3-1/2 days of cutting-edge training taught by leading experts in their fields. Training is administered to members of law enforcement, prosecutors, advocates, and medical professionals from across the country focusing on domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, stalking, campus safety, strangulation, cold cases, etc. Our long-term goal is to eliminate violence against women and children in every community. We will achieve this by arming police officers, prosecutors, and victim advocates with the information needed to identify, investigate, and prosecute difficult cases successfully. Each year, we are one step closer to creating national change to this global problem. We present a sophisticated, inspiring educational forum of best practices, victim-centered policies, promotion of multi-disciplinary dialogue, collaborative community models, and provide real-life tools and strategies to the many professionals to take back to their own communities. 2024 Conference on Crimes Against Women May 20-23, 2024 Dallas, TX Register here: https://conferencecaw.org/registration-2024/

A study of women seeking shelter at a safe house showed that 71% of those with pets said their partner had threatened, hurt, or killed their animals. This powerful connection between animal abuse and family violence is the focus of Allie Phillips’ session at #CCAW25. This workshop will look at the connection between animal abuse and violence against women, why it’s important to recognize animal abuse in homes facing interpersonal violence, and the need for a multi-disciplinary agency response to achieve better outcomes. In August of 2018, 19-year-old Kiera Bergman disappeared. A month later, her body was found in the Arizona desert, staged to look like a sexual assault. Her boyfriend, who was the last to see her alive, was charged with second-degree murder and evidence tampering. The jury found him not guilty. Join us at #CCAW25 for a powerful workshop on State v. Clark, where Shawn Jensvold and Lauren Deakin will break down the investigation, trial challenges, and lessons learned in domestic violence homicide cases.
