Meet the Board: Molly Dodge. Molly is the Senior Vice President of Workforce and Careers at Ivy Tech Community College and has served on our Board since 2023. Before playing an integral role in launching the Associate’s program for Applied Science in Smart Manufacturing, Molly also worked for a nonprofit helping low-income and disadvantaged Hoosiers obtain meaningful employment. Last week, Eli Lilly and Company announced that it will invest $4.5 million into its manufacturing site at the LEAP Lebanon Innovation District to create a new center for advanced manufacturing and drug development. I had a blast during #National #ManufacturingDay at the 16 Tech Innovation District for Purdue University’s eXcellence in Manufacturing and Operations (XMO) event: AI in Manufacturing Across the Smart Corrirdor of America. The co-directors of XMO, Ajay Malshe and Stephan Biller, did a fanastic job positioning both Purdue and the state of Indiana as the place of #consequence for the #manufacturing #renaissance—or Industry 4.0 or Manufacturing 2.0 as President Mung Chiang put it in his opening remarks. Many great insights and perspectives during the panel discussion but my #big #takeaway was why and how Indiana must become a national leader in #AI #adoption and workforce #training for manufacturing and industrial use cases. Digital transformation leaders from Ford Motor Company, Eaton, and Wabash shared some great inspiration regarding the steps they are taking in both AI adoption and workforce development. One of those events is Purdue University's eXcellence in Manufacturing Operations event on the intersection of manufacturing and AI. We co-hosted a panel during the event that featured Eaton, Ford Motor Company, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Wabash.
