Over the past few years, Rift Cut White Oak has been one of the hottest species in the kitchen & bath industry. Its’ straight graining provides an appearance synonymous with high-end modern design and has helped reignite interest in stained finishes. Unfortunately, there has been tremendous pressure on the White Oak lumber and veneer supply from other industries. The strong demand continues to drive White Oak lumber pricing upward to levels never previously seen. The concern now is that Rift, Quartered and Flat Sawn White Oak are approaching the point they may be pricing itself out of the kitchen market. To provide a more price-sensitive alternative while maintaining the straight grain Rift Cut look, Conestoga has added Rift Cut Red Oak to our standard material offering. While the Rift Cut Red Oak offering is limited to the majority of our mortise & tenon designs, we’ve also included the Alexandreia, AspenPP, BoulderPP, FargoPP, Juno, OmahaPP, TopekaPP, Venus and Venus78 miter designs. Complementary Rift Cut Red Oak products include fillers, valances, floating shelves, cut-to-size plywood and wood back veneers. #RiftCutRedOak
