Today is World Water Day! Each year on this day, we highlight the value of sustainable water stewardship and maintain our focus on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030. This year’s theme, glacier preservation, focuses on the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and managing meltwater to protect frozen water resources for the future. ? As a collection of global textile manufacturers who value our planet’s resources, Elevate and its brands—American & Efird, Burlington Fabrics, Cone Denim, A&E Gütermann, and Safety Components—take sustainable water management seriously. We support this year’s theme through our validated Science Based Targets and efforts towards emissions reductions through solar project installations and energy reduction projects. ? We actively seek opportunities to conserve water through innovation, partnerships, and recycling throughout our operations. Globally, we have three Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems and four ultrafiltration/reverse osmosis systems, which is a growing number. Our A&E India team is currently planning and constructing a state-of-the-art ZLD system at their Ludhiana facility.?It will use various cutting-edge technologies to achieve an impressive 97% water recovery, reusing nearly all the effluent water fed into the system and reducing the freshwater requirement to just 3%. ? Cone Denim would like to recognize the career of Robert Fariole as he transitions into retirement after 42 years with the Elevate Textiles portfolio. ? Robert began his journey with Burlington Fabrics in 1982 as a Plant Engineer. Since then, he has worked at several manufacturing facilities and transitioned to be the Director of Engineering for all of ITG/Elevate Textiles in 2017. Robert’s career heavily impacted Cone. He played a critical role in our plant innovations and developments, from smaller engineering tasks to leading the creation of our Zero Liquid Discharge installation and Co-Generation facility in Parras, Mexico. ? His knowledge, determination, and friendship with the Cone Denim team will be greatly missed. We want to thank Robert for all his contributions to Cone over the years and wish him the best in this next chapter of his life. #weareconedenim

This week, several of our senior leaders visited with key senators and representatives in?Washington, D.C., including Congressman Richard Hudson. Our team has been working to advocate for all of our brands and for the importance of funding the Wool Trust Fund in support of the fabrics that Burlington Fabrics produces for all branches of the U.S. Military. “We appreciate Congressman Hudson’s years of support in Congress as a champion for our employees and brands," said Jeffrey P. Pritchett, CEO of Elevate Textiles.
