Do you know the difference between a RIC and a CIC when it comes to hearing aids? ?? A RIC is a receiver-in-canal hearing aid. It has a hard shell casing that sits behind your ear and a thin wire that runs from the main body of the hearing aid to a receiver that sits in your ear canal. A CIC is a completely-in-canal hearing aid. It does not have a hard shell that sits behind the ear. Instead, it houses all of the components of the device in a casing that fits inside your ear canal. Some OTC hearing aids use "presets," while other OTC hearing aids are self-fitting. Do you know the difference? In OTC hearing aids, a preset refers to profiles that are automatically created by hearing aid software by averaging thousands of hearing tests, known as audiograms. However, Concha Labs? uses proprietary Soundscope? software. It asks you evolving questions about your hearing to create a sound profile that will fit your hearing aids uniquely to you and your listening needs. Some self-fitting OTCs may not use presets, while all non-self-fitting OTCs do use presets. You can read more online at https://lnkd.in/gGHFykxi.
