We are seeking a Machinist I (2nd shift) to join us at our headquarters and manufacturing facility located in White River Junction, Vermont. This role is responsible for setting up and operating advanced 5-axis milling centers and/or CNC lathes to manufacture both prototype and production hardware for cutting-edge turbomachinery applications. These components power clean and renewable energy solutions, enhance the efficiency of diesel engines, propel state-of-the-art aircraft and rocket engines, and support many other innovative technologies. As a valued member of our dynamic team, and following a period of training, Machinist I team members are expected to prove out, troubleshoot, and operate CNC programs with minimal supervision, adhering to detailed processes. They will use hand-held metrology tools and other precision measurement equipment to verify setups and part dimensions. Additionally, they will interpret blueprints and CNC programs to manufacture mid-to-high complexity components for aerospace, industrial, power generation, and rocketry applications. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Typical tasks include, but are not limited to the following: ??Setup and operate mills and/or lathes according to supplied processes and programs. ??Prove out new programs and processes under the direction of Senior Machinists & Programmers. ??Verify product quality using inspection devices such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc. ??Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, routers, and CNC programs. ??Responsible for accurate record keeping of dimensions. ??Responsible for maintaining a clean work area and adhering to all safety policies and guidelines. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: ??Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent. ??Experience: Proficiency with CNC equipment, Heidenhain controls, blueprint reading, shop math skills, and the use of quality control measuring devices and gauges is preferred, but we will train the right candidate. ??Abilities: Must be able to stand for extended periods of time during the workday and be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a safe manner.
