Work is currently underway to move the walkway over the railroad tracks connecting Columbus Blvd. to the CTFastrak station from where it currently is down by PriceRite, to where people most commonly get off the busses at the corner of Main & Columbus. This project has been years in the making and is the result of collaboration between the City of #NewBritain, the railroad company, and the Connecticut Department of Transportation ??

Progress is being made on the "Berkowitz II", a 28-unit townhouse project being developed in partnership with the Chrysalis Center, Inc. and Connecticut Department of Housing on Main Street right at the entrance to the Little Poland neighborhood. Site drainage is being installed, foundations are being poured, and a large retaining wall is going up to help level out the site for this building. The State's Bonding Commission approved a $6 million Community Investment Fund (CIF) grant that will allow the City to begin Phase 1 of the "Transforming East Main Street" project, which will involve the demolition of the old Public Works yard and preparing the site for road realignment work and future development.
