Grateful. ???? That's what we're feeling right now. Thank you to the Wahpeton Breckenridge Area Chamber of Commerce for recognizing us as Business of the Year amongst so many other incredible companies. 2024 was a milestone year for us celebrating 100-years in business, and this is just the cherry on top. It shows us how much we've meant to the surrounding communities and that the hard work, dedication, and determination of the Comstock family, as well as the many employees who have walked our halls the past 100-years, have truly made an impact. #ComstockConstruction #BusinessoftheYear #Wahpeton

February is ???????????? & ?????????????????? ?????????????????? (??????) Month! ????? With a 3-million skilled-worker shortage expected by 2028, CTE programs are more important than ever. Skilled trades keep our world running; without these vital roles, the buildings we rely on—schools, hospitals, businesses—wouldn’t exist. We’re proud to support the future of the trades by building facilities like the Dunseith CTE Center, NDSCS Bisek Hall, New Town Vocational School, and the upcoming NDSCS Career Innovation Center (CIC). Let's keep building up the next generation of tradespeople! #ComstockConstruction #CTEMonth #SkilledTrades #CommercialConstruction

One big milestone complete at the site of the future St. Michael’s Church in Bismarck, ND ? St. Michael’s vision for this building is to create a space that welcomes a growing parish, supports the Traditional Latin Mass, and provides a church hall for social gatherings and catechism classes. Planning ahead, this progress lays the foundation for a future priory and school. Check out the latest progress photos, and stay tuned for more updates as we continue building their vision. ?????♂??? #ComstockConstruction #ConstructionProgress #WeBuildYourVision #BismarckND

We rolled into the Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce 's Battle of the Businesses bowling tournament ready to compete—and let’s just say, we didn’t disappoint! Our team brought the heat, with some impressive scores across the board, including a PERFECT 300 GAME from one of our bowlers! ???? A huge shoutout to the Chamber for hosting such a fantastic event and to all the businesses that joined in for some friendly competition. We’re proud to bring the same precision, skill, and teamwork to the lanes as we do to every project we build. ????? #Comstock Construction #StrikingSuccess #Perfect300 #BattleOfTheBusinesses #FergusFallsChamber #BuildingExcellence

This #CTEMonth, we're proud to celebrate the hands-on learning that happens in Career & Technical Education centers—many of which we've had the honor of building! From welding workshops to healthcare labs, these spaces prepare students for real-world success. ??♂????? Why are CTE centers so important? Skilled trades are the backbone of our economy, yet the construction industry alone faces a shortage of over 500,000 workers in the U.S. this year. And with nearly 3 million skilled trade jobs projected to remain unfilled by 2028, CTE programs play a critical role in training the next generation of electricians, carpenters, and mechanics—ensuring we have a strong workforce for the future. What skilled trades do you think will be most in demand for the next generation? #ComstockConstruction #CTEMonth #BuildingTheFuture #SkilledTrades #ConstructionMatters

Dams used to be the gold standard for water control. But as area dams built decades ago are starting to show their age, folks are coming to a crossroad deciding whether to fix them or replace with something else. One alternative we're seeing more and more of are Rock Weirs. Rock Weirs are low-profile structures made of strategically placed rocks. Unlike dams, which completely control water flow, rock weirs reduce downstream erosion while maintaining natural flow patterns. Rock weirs offer numerous advantages over dams: ?? Safety: They eliminate the drowning hazards associated with dams and provide safer environments for recreational activities like kayaking and fishing. ?? Environmental Health: By maintaining natural flow patterns, rock weirs improve water quality, increase dissolved oxygen, and create habitats for fish and other aquatic species. ?? Cost-Effective: Building rock weirs is often more affordable than constructing and maintaining a dam. ?? Erosion Prevention: They protect riverbanks from erosion and help restore natural riparian buffers. ?? ???????????????? ?????????????????? ?? Meet Christian, an estimator who is approaching his third year at Comstock Construction. As he continues to learn the ins and outs of the estimating world, his curiosity and drive make him a great asset to our team. We're glad to have him on board and excited to see his continued growth ???? Tell us a little about yourself. Grew up in the Des Moines, IA area. Went to the University of Northern Iowa for a CM degree, Go Cats! Worked in the construction field doing flatwork and general demolition. ????♂? What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Rock Climbing, Reading, Video Games, Snowboarding ?? What is your favorite snack? Milk Chocolate Chippers ?? How did you come to work at Comstock Construction, and what attracted you to the company? Was fortunate enough to get an interview with the company. After the interview I felt like the culture I got a glimpse of was interesting and the individuals I spoke too were incredibly humble. ?? What challenges have you faced in your role, and how did you overcome them? Lack of experience was a big hurdle. Felt like I was not quite qualified to do the job I was doing. I put effort into learning the different divisions and identifying bid factors. Still learning new things on every project, I feel much more comfortable digging into new projects now. ?? What advice would you give to someone starting in a similar role? Mistakes are an opportunity to learn and as long as you treat them as such you will continue to be on the right track. ?? What do you appreciate most about the company culture? It is very comfortable. It is like a little village in Fargo. ?? Is there a motto or piece of advice that guides your professional life? I hate perfection. To be perfect is to be unable to improve any further. ?? Which of the core values of the company do you exemplify? Why? I think I exemplify being a team player. I am not all about the individual glory or what have you. Just getting the project done and doing what's best to get the job done so we can all thrive together. #ComstockConstruction #EmployeeSpotlight #CommercialConstruction #GeneralContractor
