Before stepping into this role, Hamasa worked as an Environmental Specialist at the National Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA) in Kabul, Afghanistan, where she focused on safeguarding environmental resources and promoting sustainable development initiatives. She also served as an Instruction Paraprofessional at Appleton North High School in Appleton, WI. Afghan Case Manager (Part-Time) | COMSA Location: Green Bay, WI Hours: 24/week | Pay: $21.50/hour COMSA seeks a part-time Afghan Case Manager fluent in Dari and Pashto to support Afghan refugees through after-school programs, ESL classes, and case management. Key Responsibilities: Assist Afghan students and families with education and cultural integration. Support adult ESL learners and facilitate communication. Provide case management, resource connections, and translation services. Qualifications: Fluency in Dari and Pashto; proficient in English. Experience in refugee support and case management. This afternoon, we celebrated the successful completion of our first cohort in the swimming program! This initiative allowed participants to socialize and learn valuable skills, helping to combat isolation, especially for those who don't speak English. Exciting News! Today, we're thrilled to announce that we’ve successfully distributed 50 boxes of fresh, locally-sourced produce from Seasonal Harvest LLC! For the first time, we've also included Halal ground beef for our families! A massive shoutout to Wello for making this possible! Their Cultivating Community project is a fantastic local solution to food insecurity, partnering with local farmers to bring fresh, nutritious food directly to our refugee and immigrant families who need it most. This initiative is powered by the WI Local Food Purchase Assistance Program Community Partners Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP). Huge thanks to our amazing youth for helping with packing and making everything ready to go. We couldn't have done it without you!
