When a large hospital network needed to migrate their virtual desktops from VMware Horizon to Citrix, CPC was ready to help. But during the process, we uncovered a critical challenge: the hospital’s existing thin clients were designed only for VMware, creating potential delays and costs. Our Solution: Rather than replacing all the devices, CPC proposed IGEL OS, allowing the client to repurpose their hardware. With a simple policy change, their existing thin clients could operate seamlessly with Citrix, maintaining security while simplifying device management. The Results: - Converted and deployed over 5,100 endpoints across more than 150 locations - Completed the migration within 18 months - Enabled the client to use much of their existing hardware, reducing costs - Ensured a seamless transition without disrupting critical healthcare workflows The client described the experience as “like flipping a switch.” At CPC, we pride ourselves on finding innovative solutions that deliver value, even in complex, highly regulated environments.
