?? Stopping the Bleed First: A Life-Saving Intervention?? In Austria, a young trauma patient faced severe, life-threatening injuries, including an unstable pelvis, liver and kidney lacerations, and a dislocated hip. Despite intubation, mass transfusion, 3 liters of fluid, and norepinephrine, her condition continued to decline. Her blood pressure fell to critical levels. ?? The turning point? The application of the AAJT-S. When applied to the abdomen, the AAJT-S quickly stabilized her systolic blood pressure to 100, maintaining it between 90 and 100 for 40 crucial minutes—long enough for her to make it to surgery. Scaling up opportunities for pre-hospital blood transfusion on the frontlines and improving chances of survival ?? We have trained the medics of the 73rd Naval Special Operations Center and equipped them with all the necessary tools for storing, transporting, and transfusing blood in pre-hospital conditions. The sooner blood is transfused to critically injured patients, the higher their chances of survival.
