CCA is a national advocate for dramatically increasing college completion and closing institutional performance gaps.
关于我们
Established in 2009, Complete College America is a national nonprofit with a single mission: to work with states to significantly increase the number of Americans with quality career certificates or college degrees and to close attainment gaps for traditionally underrepresented populations. The need for this work is compelling. Between 1970 and 2009, undergraduate enrollment in the United States more than doubled, while the completion rate has been virtually unchanged. We've made progress in giving students from all backgrounds access to college - but we haven't finished the all-important job of helping them achieve a degree. Counting the success of all students is an essential first step. And then we must move with urgency to reinvent American higher education to meet the needs of the new majority of students on our campuses, delicately balancing the jobs they need with the educations they desire. Complete College America believes there is great reason for optimism and a clear path forward. With a little more support - and a lot of common sense - we can ensure that many more get the high-quality college education that will help them live productive and fulfilling lives. All Americans will share in the benefits of their success.

Meaningful progress in postsecondary education doesn’t happen overnight—and it doesn’t happen by chance.?At SXSW EDU earlier this month, I joined Yolanda Watson Spiva, Ph.D., BCC of Complete College America and Joel Vargas of Jobs for the Future (JFF) in a conversation moderated by Leslie Crutchfield from Georgetown University. We talked about what it really takes to drive long-term change in higher education systems and one theme stood out: transformation happens in cycles. Whether we’re talking about the broader postsecondary value agenda or developmental education reform specifically, change requires patience, persistence, and a willingness to adapt. A few data points I’ve been reflecting on: -Corequisite models work: Students enrolled in credit-bearing courses with additional support are significantly more likely to succeed than those in traditional remedial tracks. -States are stepping up: The latest 50-State Comparison from Education Commission of the States shows how placement policies and use of data are evolving to better serve students. -Equity must stay at the center: Research from The Education Trust underscores the need for policy that closes—not widens—gaps in outcomes. Check it out here:

It was truly an honor to be a guest conversationalist with Jamia Stokes, Phd on the Complete College America CCA on the Air podcast! I am always excited to share the amazing work of the Great Eight (HBCCs/PBCCs) in Alabama. Jamia was so easy to talk to; thank you for making this experience one I won't forget!
New CCA on the Air podcast episode! ??? "Building Bridges of Possibility" In our latest CCA on the Air episode, Jamia Stokes, Phd, speaks with Chandra C. Scott, executive director of Alabama Possible, about their innovative work connecting Historically Black and Predominantly Black Community Colleges across Alabama. As one student powerfully stated to Chandra, "These institutions are FOR and BY the community." Listen to discover how targeted networks and student-centered approaches can transform educational outcomes for under-resourced communities. #CCADoesTheWork #CCAontheAir #HigherEducation #StudentSuccess #CommunityColleges #HBCU #PBCC https://lnkd.in/euvNaJxq
