Last week at Mining Disrupt I visited the Bitcoin Mining Museum and saw the first ASIC miner ever made. The air-cooled Avalon-1 was introduced in January 2013 and produced 66 GH/s (0.066 TH/s) while consuming 600 watts, resulting in an efficiency of 9,090 J/TH. For comparison, in the second half of 2024, BITMAIN released the air-cooled Antminer S21XP. This machine delivers 270 TH/s with a power consumption of 3,645 watts, achieving an efficiency of 13.5 J/TH. ?? In just over a decade, hashrate output (computing power) has increased by more than 4,000%, while efficiency has improved by 99%.

Last week, our overall uptime across all sites was 97.28%. For this week's Facility Update, please review the following ?? ????Iowa 2/3: Last week, there was a brief outage at one of the sites, but it was quickly resolved. The facility will be adjusting airflow for the summer season as winter comes to an end. During this transition, certain areas may have intermittent downtime or overheating. ????Ohio 2: The installation of the polycarbonate led to several racks going offline in that area of the site. This is part of ongoing maintenance to improve the site's performance. The team focused on deracking units for repair and addressing the offline equipment. ????Texas 6: Technicians on site are troubleshooting miners and performing maintenance to improve overall performance. All miners have been relocated from the container impacted by the downed transformer.
