I love this list and want to give my take on my top 7 favorites, to help anyone become more competitive in the workplace. 1. AI Literacy: I remember when people would say AI would take our jobs way. I do not think this is true at all. If anything, AI can help enhance our jobs and quickly help us generate ideas and solutions. Although new AI tools are being developed for specific industries, the need to have people who can decipher and know how to maneuver through the best system is key. 2. Conflict Mitigation: I am so happy to see this on the list because we need people who have professionalism, and empathy, see both sides of the situation, and possess fairness while diffusing conflict because conflict is inevitable from time to time. 3. Adaptability: Adaptability is one of the best traits anyone could have in the workplace. Times are changing quickly, and we must adapt, or we will fall behind. When you are flexible, you open yourself up to so many more opportunities. 4. Innovative Thinking: Sometimes society gets stuck in doing things because “why reinvent the wheel?” But just because we have always done something a certain way doesn’t mean there isn’t a better, faster, or more creative way to do it. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to look at it from a fresh perspective. 5. Public Speaking: As a young adult, I remember being terrified of public speaking. I remember thinking my voice didn't matter, or I wasn't qualified. I had imposter syndrome before it even had a name. But as I got older, I realized the importance of not just finding my own voice but also having confidence in my ideas and viewpoints and being willing to share them publicly. If you want to move up in your career, showing your authentic self can move mountains. 6. Solution-Based Selling: When I first started my business, Compassionate Consulting, it was to help solve a problem I saw firsthand. As a social worker, I'd meet parents who needed help with resumes or job interviews. Sometimes they would share they had no clue about the 'dos and don’ts' of resumes or interviews. I wanted to meet people where they were at, in a kind, compassionate manner, while offering solution-focused, purposeful tools and helping them grow in their careers. 7. Customer Engagement & Support: In this age of fast-paced automation, we still need people who are thoughtful, who can converse with others, and ensure their customers feel heard. The reality is people have choices, and when they feel valued, they are more likely to support you and your business. #compassionateconsulting #skillsontherise
