It’s hard to believe that nearly a year has passed since I joined Compass: Impact Consulting at GW. Last semester, I had the pleasure of partaking in the SandiSolar+ consulting project. SandiSolar+ Thailand is a high-tech enterprise specializing in green energy, focusing on installing solar panels, and implementing energy storage solutions. SandiSolar+ stands as a rising clean energy solutions provider in Southeast Asia, committed to providing comprehensive and valuable products for a range of consumers. My tenure so far on this project has exposed me to critical consulting challenges, and in the process broadened my critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The project aligns with my career interests in economics, finance, government policy, and the expanding green energy market, as our final deliverable delved deeply into these topics. Specifically, I contributed to market research on New Zealand’s climate policy and carbon market, developed a carbon credit lifecycle implementation plan, proposed a carbon assets securitization strategy, and authored a market-entry recommendation for South Korea. My work on this project has had a tangible impact, and I am proud to have served as an Analyst on this enriching experience, working closely with the company’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). I am honored to announce that I have been promoted from Analyst to Project Manager for the SandiSolar+ Thailand project this upcoming school year. Thank you to everyone who made this deliverable a success! Contributors: Royce Shey, Saiyam Shah, Samarth Nagaraj, Pritesh Tanna, Ng Yi Keong Darren, Oscar Gonzalez Sonderhoff, Miles Vondra, and Chase Erlbeck. #Compass #greenenergy #SD+ #energy

Halcyon House: Bridging Innovation and Inclusion in Venture Capital Halcyon House’s investment thesis is simple yet profound: Impact-driven businesses will outperform their traditional counterparts. After all, companies creating products genuinely making the world a better place will be rewarded by the market. ? Traditional venture capital often focuses narrowly on profits, potentially overlooking impact-driven businesses that drive positive social change. This approach can leave impactful, innovative ventures, particularly those led by individuals from traditionally marginalized groups, without crucial support. ? Enter Halcyon. ? Halcyon redefines the essence of investment through its focus on social entrepreneurship. By investing in social entrepreneurs, Halcyon enriches the venture landscape with a wide array of perspectives and solutions to global challenges. This strategy not only cultivates a more equitable entrepreneurial community but also unlocks innovative ideas that might otherwise be overlooked by traditional funding pathways. ? Halcyon provides more than just capital; it offers a holistic ecosystem including mentorship, strategic advice, and access to a vast network of like-minded professionals and potential investors who are committed to fostering inclusive growth. ? Halcyon does not take equity from fellows. Rather, Halcyon's funding vehicles managed by Halcyon Venture Partners range from direct equity, referrals, or no-collateral microloans. These initiatives are designed to support entrepreneurs in scaling impact-driven businesses whilst minimizing ownership dilution. ? The positive benefits arising from Halcyon’s efforts are irrefutable. Halcyon startup alumni have created jobs, driven technological advancements, and contributed to sustainability. The programs have demonstrated significant impact, propelling ventures that address everything from renewable energy solutions to equitable technology access. ? As traditional venture capital begins to recognize the value of impact-driven investments, Halcyon stands out as a trailblazer, proving that investing in diversity and social impact is not just good ethics—it's good business. ?? Congratulations to President & CEO Daniel J. Barker, Managing Partner Dahna Goldstein, Managing Partner Kate Goodall, EVP Kimberly Johnson Roberts, Principal Phoebe Van Duinen, Senior Manager Kaitlin Capobianco, PM Adam Caplan and the rest of the amazing team! ?? ??? #ImpactInvestment #SocialEntrepreneurship #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #VentureCapital #ImpactCapital
