    Analysights recently landed a Napa Valley winery as a client, doing direct-to-consumer analytics. In learning the wine industry, our President, Alex Caffarini, combined a visit with our new client with attendance at the North Coast Wine Expo, in Sonoma County, California. After visiting with our client, Alex took a tour of a different winery, Repris Wines, in Sonoma County, where he learned more about the wine business, viticulture, and oenology. And he also got to enjoy some of the wine! Here are some photos of Alex's winery tour.

    Analysights is 16 today! Our founder, Alex Caffarini, founded Analysights during his Thanksgiving week vacation from work, in 2008. As the global financial crisis loomed and his employer was on the cusp of mass layoffs in 2009, Alex realized he had either to be prepared to face a protracted job search or to pursue his longtime dream (and confront his fears) of entrepreneurship. And out of that difficult decision, Analysights was born. Despite a rocky start, Analysights would persevere, taking on major clients that included a regional cell phone company and a superregional bank, as well as a community college, a chamber of commerce, an industry trade association, and a higher education consulting firm. Now, as Analysights rebrands into CompassDTC, focusing its data science solutions on small to midsized consumer packaged goods companies who sell direct to consumer, we are excited about the next chapter in our existence and the solutions we will deliver to the companies that will be the market leaders of tomorrow.
