Compass for Kids receives National Recognition! The U.S. Department of Education announced the 2024 U.S. Department of Education Engage Every Student “Recognition Program Champions” on June 13, 2024, with Compass for Kids as the sole recipient in Illinois. Across the country, 13 not-for-profit organizations and city municipalities, working in partnership with local schools, are being honored for their efforts to expand access to high-quality afterschool and summer learning programs for students. Compass for Kids Founder & CEO Molly Berendt and Director of School Leadership and Family and Community Engagement Terrance Jordan at Springfield Public Schools District 186 will attend the Recognition Reception and Engage Every Student Summit in Washington D.C. in July. We had a GREAT turnout this morning for this month's Coffee & Connections at Compass for Kids, Inc.!! Chamber members enjoyed networking with other Chamber members while enjoying delicious breakfast food that was provided by Nelson's Catering of Central Illinois!! The Ken Scarlette Bobble-Head even made an appearance! Congratulations to Dalton Minder with Agility Technologies on being the lucky winner of the gourmet wine basket!
