Yesterday, our Regional General Manager for Commuter Rail, Zachary Thomas took part in the the panel, "Managing the Operational Impacts of Positive Train Control (PTC) and Considerations for PTC 2.0," at the 2024 #CommuterRailSummit, hosted by the Commuter Rail Coalition. ? A big thanks to the panel for an insightful discussion on the current and future state of PTC. They covered critical topics such as system downtime, highway-rail grade crossings, driver training and behavior, system testing, dispatch system load times, speed code limitations, braking curve rates, system intervention, and addressing network capacity concerns. A wonderful exchange of ideas on the subject. The day’s line up included the 2024 Champions of Commuter Rail, MBTA legend Jody Ray, and Jennifer Mitchell, plus Federal Railroad Administration chief counsel Allison Ishihara Fultz. And Rep. Jake Auchincloss joined us for a discussion on expanding the commuter rail ridership base. And today looks to be perfect weather for the golfers raising funds for next year’s Summit Fellowships.
