It’s a wrap at New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) Polo Grounds Towers for our 7th #NYCHA Youth Tech Corps cohort! ???????? NYCHA Youth Tech, designed by Soulful Synergy, LLC to equip young NYCHA residents with essential digital skills to support their career growth and bridge the #digitaldivide while creating a safe place to create #intergenerational connections. We covered everything from Google Suite—creating emails, managing spreadsheets in Sheets, and crafting professional documents in Docs—to graphic design, resume preparation, and email etiquette. The goal was for these young participants to not only gain valuable knowledge but also to mentor and assist their resident adult leaders, sharing what they learned. This program has grown into so much more. It has become a space that unites generations, where the community learns together, supports one another, and grows collectively. It’s a place where young people and adults alike exchange knowledge, guide each other and build lasting connections. More than just tech training, NYCHA Youth Tech Corps has become a bridge between generations, fostering mentorship, empowerment, and opportunity. Many thanks to our funder, Spectrum. ?? Program Update! ?? This past Saturday, we had the incredible opportunity to welcome back three past graduates of the Met-NYCHA Art & Culture Scholars Program to speak with our current class! Hearing directly from alumni about their experiences, growth, and career paths was truly inspiring. Their journeys are a testament to the power of ARTivism, imagination, and placemaking—core themes of our program. Through this 40-hour paid leadership development program, interns explore the intersection of art, music, and activism while engaging with The Met's exhibitions, creative professionals, and social justice-focused arts programming. With support from the Public Housing Community Fund, New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), and The Metropolitan Museum of Art—alongside funding from Trinity Church Church Wall Street Philanthropies—we're building pathways for young creatives to shape the future of the arts.
