Members of the Lyceum and Haven House Art Empowerment Group showcased their art at the “In Her Shoes” Art Exhibition held at the Lyceum Empowerment Center. The group provides survivors of domestic violence with the opportunity to express their stories in their own way. Too often, survivors are asked to share their experiences in ways that may be uncomfortable to them or are forced to discuss their stories with people they do not trust. The Art Empowerment Group provides a safe space and the necessary time to share their stories however they choose, without judgment, and surrounded by individuals who understand what they have endured. . . #domesticviolencesurvior #domesticviolenceawareness #wny #buffalo #arttherapy

People in tuxes, suits, gowns, and other dazzling attire packed Wayland Hall for a night of food, dancing, and fun in celebration of Community Services for Every1’s 35th Anniversary Gala. Guests were treated to live music by the XOXO Pop Band, hors d'oeuvres, raffles, a silent auction, and a photo booth. Later, they heard from founder of Community Services for Every1, Mark Foley about how Community Services came to be. Guests also got a sneak peek of a documentary produced by Dennis Quaid’s Viewpoints about Community Services. The people we serve created Halloween decorations, played Bing-Go, watched a movie, and enjoyed pizza and a make-your-own fruit sundae station.
