Last week, as a lead-in to #NationalApprenticeshipWeek, we hosted our Inaugural Capstone Dinner Event to celebrate one of our own apprentices, Chef Kwelin. As she nears the end of her Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry Apprenticeship with us, it was the perfect way to celebrate the culmination of the experience she has gained during her time with us. It was a wonderful evening of laughs, tears, and incredible food that was prepared and presented by Chef Kwe, our staff, and students. On Saturday, we were at the Senator John Heinz History Center for GoodTastePgh’s “Hometown Homegrown”, sampling and selling meat from our Butchery as well as sharing more about what we do here at Community Kitchen Pgh. We happened to run into Mezclado Pepper Sauce, who was also vending there, and asked co-founder, Dan Tomaino, MBA, to share a little bit about how they’re connected to us. ?? Did you know that we’ve rented our commercial kitchen out to area foodtreprenurs who need a space to make their products?
