CIC is proud to share that our President & CEO, Stacie Young, wrote an op-ed in the Chicago Sun-Times highlighting the critical role of Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing (NOAH), which makes up 75% of the nation’s affordable rentals. Stacie emphasizes that small, responsible local building owners are the backbone of Chicago’s affordable housing ecosystem. To support the preservation of NOAH, these owners need access to financing from CDFIs like CIC, along with resources, information, and a voice in policymaking. Last week, Governor Pritzker signed an executive order launching a statewide initiative to expand housing options for working families across Illinois. As a member of the Governor’s Ad-Hoc Missing Middle Housing Solutions Advisory Committee, CIC President & CEO Stacie Young highlighted at the announcement the importance of pragmatic solutions to unlock resources and capital, ensuring more families have access to quality, affordable housing.
