Innovators and educators. Our exceptional electrophysiology team, recently honored by IBJ Media for #ExcellenceinHealthcare for their work in improving treatments in atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeats), just returned from Japan where they taught medical professionals how to do the procedure. Pulsed field ablation is a safer, quicker and more efficient procedure that uses an electrical current instead of thermal energy to treat heart arrythmia. Community Heart and Vascular Hospital was the first in Indiana, and one of the first ten hospitals in the country, to utilize the state-of-the-art technology. Dr. Kevin Trulock and Dr. Krishna Malineni traveled to five different cities in Japan to mentor Japanese electrophysiology physicians on using the Boston Scientific FARAPULSE PFA ablation system. Dr. Trulock said, "This was an incredible opportunity to be an ambassador on behalf of Community, which was made possible by global recognition of the success and leadership of our program.
