Last week, Foundation Executive Director McCrae (Holliday) Martino attended Mental Health America’s Legislative Breakfast held at the Westmoreland Conservation District.?Commissioner Douglas Chew discussed the human services survey completed by our Foundation and the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania and how it led to the director of human services position being created.

Current funding levels are expected to remain in place at least through September. Housing Authority board Chairman Robert T. Regola III, a former state senator who operates a lobbying firm based in Westmoreland County, said his contacts suggest housing programs will remain funded. “There are a lot of moving parts, but the discussions I’ve had with people in Washington have been positive,” Regola said.

Last Wednesday, Jonathan Brelsford, CFA CAIA, Sara Swaney and Brittany Zuckerman from The Pittsburgh Foundation presented at our annual luncheon for the Westmoreland County Agency Endowment Funds at our office. They shared updates on the financial markets as they pertained to their legacy funds as well as effective communications methods and planned giving strategies. Thank you to all who attended.
