Meet the NoCo Changemakers! Lauren Rhoades, MS, MBA, RDN is the Finance Manager at Homeward Alliance. Lauren has been working in the nonprofit sector for years and has had a hand in several initiatives including launching a summer meals program to provide lunches to children in housing communities where Food Bank clients live. She is excited to learn about the philanthropist/donor experience and use this knowledge to better serve Homeward Alliance, its clients, and the nonprofit community. NoCo Changemakers is our new NextGen Philanthropy Program designed to empower the next generation of Changemakers. Participants will gain comprehensive knowledge of philanthropy and strategic giving throughout this program. To give participants firsthand grantmaking experience, a portion of the program fee goes toward collective grantmaking. At the end of the program, the Changemakers will collaborate to make a grant to a local organization. Additionally, the position works across the entire organization to provide staff support and seamless service delivery for donors and fundholders, including assistance with outreach, customer service, event planning, and strategic communication activities. In 1975, the NoCo Foundation was created when community members came together to transform the old Lincoln Junior High School into a performance center. Meet LeAnn! LeAnn has been on the NoCo Foundation Board of Trustees for almost two years. Read on to learn more about LeAnn! Profession: I retired in 2022 as the Executive Director of Respite Care. Respite Care is a local nonprofit organization that provides facility care for children with developmental disabilities and respite for their families. ? Why do you choose to invest time in the NoCo Foundation? What brings you joy or reward in your service? As the Executive Director of Respite Care, I realized how valuable NoCo Foundation is for local nonprofits. They offer endowment opportunities, training support, Colorado Gives Day participation, networking, and grant opportunities. I wanted to use my time to help make an impact in Northern Colorado. I also enjoy the professional interaction and camaraderie?of the Board of Trustees. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given? Your time is valuable. Only say "yes" to opportunities?that you can be passionate about. What's your favorite weekend activity?
