Connecting People Who Care With Causes That Matter

关于我们

Established in 1985, the Community Foundation of Central Illinois was brought to life by a group of community-minded citizens excited to leverage their generous donations to make lasting change in our community. From the start, CFCI has focused on building permanent endowments as charitable capital to serve the needs of central Illinois. Over the years, we have contributed over $25,000,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations making a real impact in our community. Our high professional standards in the investment and management of funds entrusted to CFCI is recognized and accredited by the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations – the highest standard for philanthropic excellence. The Community Foundation of Central Illinois was created to serve donors with diverse interests at various levels of charitable giving. With extensive knowledge of the community, we link our donors with charitable agencies with the mission and vision that align with their own objectives and philanthropic desires. We also offer maximum flexibility in terms of assets that can be used to create a fund and options for the use of donors’ gifts. For more information, please visit www.communityfoundationci.org.

  • A bonus post for Neighborhood House Association and their Youth Education Program because this one is too fun not to share! This program is completely free to participants, focuses on education and enrichment activities, and strengthens youth by providing much needed support, both after school and during school breaks. As you can see, we were lucky enough to visit during art and polka time!

  • Today is the last day of National Community Foundation Week and what an incredible week it’s been! Community foundations, like CFCI, operate in every state in the country and play a key role in identifying and solving community problems. For the past week we have been celebrating the incredible positive impact they have on communities. Much appreciation to our staff, board members, volunteers, grantees, and community partners for their dedication to making central Illinois a wonderful place to live, work and play! #CommunityFNDWeek #CFCI #CommunityFoundationofCentralIllinois

  • Our last nonprofit spotlight of Community Foundation Week is on Neighborhood House Association (NHA), recipient of a 2024 Community Needs grant for its Youth Education Program! NHA is located in the third poorest zip code in the state of Illinois. The Youth Education Program provides a safe, welcoming environment where young people can develop the tools needed to be successful. The program is completely free to participants, focuses on education and enrichment activities, and strengthens youth by providing much needed support, both after school and during school breaks.
